the rules for using this website. short, and mostly what you'd assume.
a summary, not the agreement. the numbered clauses below are what binds.
this website is operated by alchemist inc., a next-gen creative and strategy marketing agency with its office in bangalore, india. by opening or using it you agree to these terms. if you don't, the remedy is simple and immediate: stop using the site.
if you are using the site for an organisation, you are telling us you have the authority to accept these terms on its behalf.
it is a portfolio and a shop window. it describes what we do and shows work we've done.
nothing on it is an offer capable of acceptance, a quotation, or a promise to take on work. rates, timelines and scope live in a proposal written for you. nothing here is professional advice either — not legal, financial, or marketing advice you should act on without talking to someone about your actual situation.
we engage on a signed agreement. filling in a form, booking a call or exchanging emails doesn't create one, and neither does this page.
the site's design, code, words, films, photography, illustration, the alchemist name and wordmark, and the four creature marks are owned by us or licensed to us, and are protected by copyright and trade mark law.
client work shown in the portfolio is published with permission. the brands, logos and trade marks appearing in it belong to those clients, not to us, and showing them here is not a licence for you to use them.
want to use something? ask. hello@alchemistgroup.in — we're reasonable, and the answer is often yes.
don't:
we may withdraw access without notice if any of that happens. security research is welcome — tell us first at hello@alchemistgroup.in and don't touch anyone else's data.
you keep ownership of anything you send us — an enquiry, a brief, a message in the showroom. you give us permission to read it, store it and act on it so we can respond, which is presumably why you sent it.
if you send us an unsolicited idea, concept or pitch, we can't treat it as confidential and we won't be liable if we later make something similar. our own people and clients generate overlapping ideas constantly, and we're not able to police that against a submission we didn't ask for.
our editorial section carries opinion and analysis, written by us and by guests. views in a piece belong to whoever wrote it. it's commentary, not advice, and it's accurate as at the day it was published — we don't undertake to go back and update older pieces as the world moves.
if you believe something we've published infringes your copyright, is defamatory or is otherwise unlawful, write to hello@alchemistgroup.in identifying the piece, the specific material and why. we'll look at it properly and take down anything we shouldn't have published.
we serve some documents from this site at private, unlisted links — proposals, non-disclosure agreements for signature, and invoices. they are only reachable with the link, and they are never indexed by search engines.
we link out — to clients, to our instagram and linkedin, to a booking calendar run by google. those services are not ours, we don't control them, and their terms and privacy policies apply once you arrive. a link isn't an endorsement of everything on the other end of it.
we'd like the site to be up, correct and current, and we work at that. but we provide it as is: we don't warrant that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, free of anything harmful, or that everything on it is accurate and up to date. we may change, suspend or withdraw any part of it at any time.
to the extent the law allows, we exclude the implied warranties that would otherwise apply. nothing in these terms excludes anything that can't lawfully be excluded — including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.
this clause is about the website. liability for work we do for a client is dealt with in that client's agreement, and this doesn't change it.
we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for lost profit, revenue, business, goodwill, data or anticipated savings, arising from your use of this site.
if you break these terms or the law and it costs us — a third-party claim, or the legal costs of dealing with one — you'll cover that, provided we tell you promptly and let you have a say in how it's handled.
what we collect and why is in the privacy policy, and what we put on your device is in the cookie policy. both form part of these terms.
we may update these terms. the version on this page is the one that applies, and the date at the top tells you when it last moved. a material change won't be applied retrospectively to something that already happened. if you keep using the site after a change, that's acceptance of it.
these terms are governed by the laws of india. the courts at bangalore have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute about this website.
client engagements are governed separately. an agreement we've signed with you names its own governing law and seat, and where it does, that clause governs the work rather than this one.
if any part of these terms turns out to be unenforceable, the rest stands. not enforcing something once doesn't mean we've given it up.
